St. Albans City School Students Bring home awards from UVM Engineering Day.

Over 50 students from St. Albans City School and their coach, Mr. Blair Smith,  flooded the Vermont Air National Guard building on March 24 to participate in the University of Vermont annual Engineering Day with inventive and innovative designs for the next Smart Phone, passive helicopters, and edible cars.   Students returned home with increased awareness of engineering thought, enthusiasm about future careers, and 4 winning awards from the day’s competition.

A team made up of Arnela Gruijic, Codi Lulek, Jana Somero, Janae Somero’s  placed 2nd in the Passive Helicopter Competition.


Cordelia Bell and Veronica Farr’s Edible Car won First Place for best Car Design.





Andi Esenler and Liam Morton won the award for Best Overall Smartphone Design.




Derek Dodge and Gary Lawton brought home the Most Creative Smartphone design award
